
The Communications, Cultural
Affairs & Donor Relations
department
provides a variety of professional services
for FAU Libraries' faculty, staff and donors.
These services include coordinating events,
creative services, public relations and room
reservations.
We work in conjunction with the Libraries'
administration and FAU’s University Communications and
Marketing division to maintain standards
and guidelines for consistent, effective and
well-planned communications. Our team of
writers, editors, designers and marketing
strategists are committed to one
mission—telling the story of FAU
Libraries.
The department works closely with the
Libraries’ faculty and staff to help them
reach their audience while communicating our
mission. From coordinating large-scale
events to designing a department brochure,
we approach every project with the same
level of attention to detail and brand
consistency.

Room Reservations
We book or assist in booking reservations for
rooms, including:
• The Wimberly Library’s fifth floor lecture &
performance space
• University Club Board Room at Wimberly Library
• Student Union at FAU’s University Center
Creative Services and Marketing
• Print and web brand consistency
and approvals
• Graphic design (campaigns, ads, brochures,
posters, slides, etc.)
• Advertising and media buying
• Event photography and videography
• E-mail campaigns
Public Relations
We disseminate news about the
library’s programs, services, staff and faculty
and steer the media and the public to all of
our hidden gems. To meet our goal, we:
• Write press releases and story pitches to the
media
• Coordinate media visits
• Track news coverage
• Create press kits
• Add our Libraries' experts to FAU’s
faculty/staff experts database

We share news throughout the FAU community
through:

External Communications
We share news outside of the FAU community

Donor Relations
The Donor Relations
staff, working in conjunction with University
Advancement, supports the mission and goals of
FAU Libraries through outreach initiatives and
fundraising efforts designed to engage the
alumni, donors, friends and the community.
The department provides:

Liaison with potential and current Library
donors, University Advancement, FAU Foundation
and appropriate departments about gifts-in-kind
and monetary contributions
•
Support and direction to Library fundraising
groups
•
Planning and coordination of events around donor
collections
