Annual Bravo Award Form


The Bravo Award recognizes FAU Libraries employees (individuals and/or groups) who have exhibited one or more of the following characteristics: gives of him/herself to the FAU Libraries in a volunteer capacity above and beyond any expectation of the employed position he/she holds; selflessness, compassion, and generosity toward those in need in his/her commitment to public service/social responsibility within the University or the greater community. 

Some ways in which the Bravo Award recipient(s) may have demonstrated initiative within the FAU Libraries are:

  • Regularly volunteering to perform additional tasks
  • Exceptionally active in Library committees
  • Volunteering one’s creativity/energy towards innovative changes that significantly improve any library function
  • Special mentoring of fellow employees

Some ways in which the Bravo Award recipient(s) may have demonstrated initiative within the University or greater community are:

  • Mentoring FAU students
  • Active involvement with FAU sponsored charity events
  • Being a Big Brother/Big Sister
  • Active involvement with the March of Dimes

Eligibility: FAU Libraries personnel in all employment categories are eligible to be nominated for this award with the following exceptions:  The FAU Libraries Director and members of the Staff Achievements Subcommittee (SAS) are not eligible to be nominated as individuals for the Bravo Award.  The FAU Libraries Director and active members of the SAS may only be eligible for a Bravo Award if nominated as part of a group.  If an SAS member is part of a group nomination, that person may not participate in the review/selection process for the award they are under consideration for.  The nominee(s) must not have any disciplinary action pending.

Nomination Process: The nomination process is open to those inside and outside the University who have worked directly with the nominated FAU Libraries employee or group of employees.  Self-nominations are also accepted.  All nominations must be received by the announced deadline as established each year.  The Staff Achievements Subcommittee will review all nominations.  Up to two separate individuals or groups may be chosen for this award annually.
