Student Employee of the Semester Award Form

 

The library recognizes that student assistants are very important in assuring an efficient operation and in making the library a pleasant place to work.  To name a "Student Employee of the Semester" is a way to honor and reward outstanding student assistants in the Library.

The award is intended to recognize a student employee who displays exemplary performance in areas of his/her employment: positive attitude, judgment in a particular situation, high level of service to patrons, etc.

Eligibility:

1) Nominees should be student employees who have worked at the FAU Libraries for at least three months.

2) Any eligible student assistant may be nominated more than once.

Selection Process:

Nominations may be made by library staff, fellow student workers, university staff, students, or library patrons.  All nominations must be received by the announced deadline as established each year. The Staff Achievements Subcommittee will review all nominations. 

Selection Guidelines:

The selection criteria statements below reflect involvement of student employees for the benefit of the Libraries/University and they are intended as guidelines to aid in the nominating process.

1) Has outstanding abilities or qualities as demonstrated by his/her work (e.g.  reliability, quality of work, initiative, disposition/attitude, longevity, adaptability, creativity).

2) Has proven and demonstrated a special contribution or accomplishment.

3) Has a positive attitude toward work responsibilities, co-workers, and patrons, and serves as a role model for others.

4) Is consistently dependable and punctual in reporting for duty, completing assignments on time.

5) Any additional examples that influence the nomination that meet the goals and objectives of the Libraries will be considered.
