Listservs Information


The FAU Libraries have several different listservs, all with a different purpose. Below is an explanation of the purpose of each listserv:

libsupervisors@lists.fau.edu


-This list has been created to facilitate the distribution of HR related information by members of the list in a more effective and efficient manner.
-Library department heads and unit coordinators should submit a ticket to the Information Technology Department to request that new supervisors be added to this list.


libfaculty@lists.fau.edu


-This list has been created to facilitate the distribution of library faculty related information by members of the list in a more effective and efficient manner.
-Library department heads and unit coordinators should submit a ticket to the Information Technology Department to request that new library faculty be added to this list.


lyprofdev-l@lists.fau.edu


-This list has been created to facilitate the distribution of information about webinars, workshops, and trainings of potential interest to FAU libraries staff. Subscription to this list is optional, but available to all FAU Libraries employees.
-Library staff and faculty should submit a ticket to the Information Technology Department to request to be added to this list.
-Selected professional development and continuing education training opportunities to be distributed may include:

  • SEFLIN webinars and workshops
  • University training opportunities (e.g., those available through OIT, eLearning, etc.).
  • Information about library and related trainings offered online and through organizations and associations relevant to libraries and higher education

  • libstaff-l@lists.fau.edu


    -This list has been created to facilitate the distribution of information intended to reach all library staff and faculty.
    -New library staff and faculty will automatically be added to this list by the Information Technology Department.
    -The messages posted to this list should be:
  • Business or work-related information
  • Webinars workshops, and trainings
  • Upcoming FAU or library activities
  • Urgent FAU or library information

    -Anyone that is interested in receiving information regarding electronic resources are welcome to join. It is recommended that staff responsible for any aspect of electronic resources such as troubleshooting, assisting patrons, and acquiring electronic resources, should join.
    -The emails will cover information regarding all aspects of electronic resources:
  • Problems with access to electronic resources
  • Problems with SearchWiSE and other online tools
  • Updates from database vendors on new platforms, downtime and other issues
  • New and cancelled databases
  • Changes to database links
  • Vendor meetings and training
  • Database trials
  • libbuilding@lists.fau.edu


    -Members of this list will include all library staff as well as people from outside the library including SEFLIN staff and Civil Engineering faculty who teach classes in the building. The purpose of this list is to provide building notifications which would be helpful to anyone working in the building to know about such as planned power outages, changes in library hours, etc.

    -Members of this list will include all library staff serving on the Website Design Committee.
    -The Commmittee Chair should submit a ticket to the Information Technology Department to request that new members be added to this list.

    -Members of this list will include all library staff on the FAU Libraries ILS Implementation Team
    -The Commmittee Chair should submit a ticket to the Information Technology Department to request that new members be added to this list.
